More antioxidants do not automatically mean more benefit
Antioxidant blends combine nutrients or plant compounds that interact with oxidation processes. The body also uses its own antioxidant systems, and normal cell signalling depends on a balance of these processes. A blend name or a laboratory antioxidant score does not reveal whether the finished product improves a meaningful health outcome.
Read the evidence limits and sources
NCCIH finds no consistent evidence that antioxidant supplements prevent chronic disease in the general population. Benefits of specific eye-health formulas in selected patients cannot be transferred to unrelated blends. Laboratory mechanisms, combined ingredient lists and larger doses do not demonstrate a finished-product benefit.
