A large trial changed expectations for recurrent UTIs
D-mannose is a sugar promoted for urinary health because of a proposed effect on bacterial attachment. That mechanism has not translated into reliable prevention benefit in a large community trial. A clear product description should distinguish the biological theory from the outcomes people actually care about, such as fewer symptomatic infections.

The 2024 placebo-controlled trial in women with recurrent UTIs did not support routine D-mannose prevention in primary care. Earlier small positive studies should be considered in that context. This is not evidence of treating an active infection, and a new branded formulation cannot inherit an unproven benefit.
The manufacturer lists 1,500 mg D-mannose per three capsules, equivalent to 500 mg per capsule. The selected pack contains 120 capsules. D-mannose is a sugar, not an antibiotic.
